Find answers to common questions about our open-source simulation software
Yes, all software available on Simvia are completely free to download and use. They are open-source and maintained by EDF R&D.
Navigate to the Downloads section, select your desired software, choose the product and version, then click the download button. You'll need to accept the terms of use before downloading.
Our software supports multiple platforms including Linux, Windows (via WSL), and Docker containers. The available platforms vary by software and version.
Each software package includes detailed installation instructions. You can also check the release notes and documentation available on the download page.
Browsers like Chrome and Edge may block .msi file downloads as a security measure. To allow the download: Chrome: Click the arrow next to the blocked file in the download bar, then select 'Keep dangerous file'. You can also go to chrome://settings/security and adjust protection settings. Edge: Click the three dots (...) next to the blocked download, then select 'Keep'. If the file is still blocked, go to edge://settings/privacy and adjust SmartScreen settings. Our files are safe and come from our own software pipeline. The blocking occurs because .msi files are not digitally signed with a Microsoft-recognized certificate. This is a temporary issue that we are actively working on.
